Kota Iskandar-The newly operational integrated administrative capital of Johor State where the Chief Minister has his office. Major state offices and federal offices are operating from Kota Iskandar as well as the State Secretary. Southern Industrial Logistics and Clusters (SILC) is the new industrial estate for light industries in the Iskandar Malaysia Region. It was chosen because of its strategic location as it is near to two international airports and five sea ports with excellent road links for a fast throughput. Factories are built on three to five acres plot of land and all have the required approvals.

Educity @ Iskandar is being built on a 305 acres plot of greenfield land at Iskandar Malaysia. It is built on a new concept where there will be a cluster of colleges with a sharing of facilities like auditorium and sport stadium. It is an integrated sort of university town where researches can be shared and better optimized with the private sectors. Sports, living quaters and recreational points are built in from the ground up. Already, a few universities have commited to setting up their campuses at Educity. Amongst them are the University of Newcastle, University of Southamton, The Netherland Maritime College, Raffles University at Iskandar, MDIS and Malborough College. More are coming.

Netherlands Maritime Institute of Technology at Iskandar's (NMIT) vision is to be a leading maritime institute offering education, training and consultancy services for the region. "Excellence with a Purpose" is the underlined philosophy of all the programmes offered by NMIT. It has developed and is continuously designing programmes ranging from Certificate, Diploma, and Degree up to Master level. The diverse maritime-focused programmes are to be accredited by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) as well as the appropriate body in the Netherlands. The Johan Cruyff Institute for Sports Studies (JCI) at Educity is the first of its kind in Asia and it will offer a "Total Athlete Development" program and according to Dutch soccer legend and founder of JCI Johan Cruyff "the idea behind the institute was to provide an environment that would not only cultivate both sporting and academic excellence but also a platform that weaves a sense of camaraderie within the Asian sporting community." Graduates of the institute will be accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).

The Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) will be built on a 30 acre site at Educity. The new campus called MDIS Campus (Malaysia) will be able to accommodate 10,000 students when all its three phases are fully completed in 2023. Building will start at the end of 2011. Malborough College Malaysia is a community where scholarship is cherished, creativity celebrated, diversity enhanced and conversation is paramount. Puteri Harbour at Iskandar Malaysia is being built on a 688 acres fronting the Johor Straits at the south western tip of the Malay Peninsular. There is a 10 kilometer waterfront with 276 marina berths. Traders Hotel at Puteri Harbour
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts have come together to build and operate Traders Hotel at Puteri Harbour, Iskandar, Malaysia...It is also the first international hotel in the newly developed area of Nusajaya, Malaysia, and the only hotel to be associated with Malaysia's family indoor theme park (hello kitty and little big club).
It is now open for business. The four-storey 286-room Traders Hotel will be located in the waterfront precinct and will form part of an integrated complex that comprises an indoor theme park (Hello Kitty), a family entertainment centre (little big club) and a 100,000-square-foot retail outlets. Puteri Harbour will also house a water transport terminal and three marinas in the near future. The hotel will be a 15-minute drive from the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link, the bridge that connects Singapore and Johor and will be sited next to ferry terminal terminal(CIQ) and three marinas.
Facilities available will include food and beverage outlets with an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby lounge, a sky lounge and a bar.
